I’ve always felt that the best parties are so much more than the pretty linens and cool themes. It’s the conversations happening at the party. The restaurant you can’t stop telling your friends they must try. The cocktail you order at the bar and immediately decide this is your cocktail moving forward! The recipe card sitting at your seat at a dinner party so you can recreate the meal being served at home. The places, people, ideas and little discoveries that give you a reason to celebrate.
That’s what Clutch is about.
Now of course, we love to plan a good party. I constantly obsess over tablescapes, stationary, lighting, guest experience and all the tiny details that become the things guests talk about long after the party is over. But our world has never stopped at the party itself. I’m just as curious about where you’re going for drinks before the party, what’s being poured once everyone gets there, the hosting question that may be a little ridiculous but you need to know and the things I’m currently obsessing over that you should be too.

On the blog, you’ll find Worth the Reservation, my running list of New Orleans places I think are actually worth leaving the house for, from dinner reservations and cocktail bars to experiences, hidden gems and the places I’d send a friend visiting town.
There’s The Party Line, my party hotline for all the questions that come with throwing a party or planning a wedding. What do you serve? How much alcohol do you actually need? Is a cash bar ever acceptable? Do you have to give everyone a plus one? Think of it as calling your friend who happens to be an event planner before you make a questionable party decision or crash out from spending too much money.
What I’m Pouring is the cocktails i’m making, drinks clients are ordering for their cocktail classes, bottles i’m curious about and everything happening behind the bar. You can expect fun recipes, my seasonal favorites and plenty of opinions from the world of Cosmic Cocktails.
And then there’s Currently Clutch, the space for whatever currently has my attention. A design detail. A trend I’m into. Something i’m buying, bookmarking, listening to, inspired by or convinced would make your next gathering just a little bit better.
